Mission & Purpose

Leadership

Church History

Our Mission and Purpose is summed up by the phrase “Loving God, Loving People”. It’s short and simple but for us it really sums up Jesus’ mandate for those who follow Him.

In Matthew 22:36-40, when asked by one of the experts in religious law, “What is the greatest commandment?” Jesus replied by explaining that all the hundreds of religious laws and all the declarations of the prophets of old could be summed up in two thoughts.

  1. Love God with all you have, your heart, soul and mind and…
  2. Love your neighbour as yourself.

Sometimes life can feel complicated, our to do lists appear to be endless but the Church’s mandate is quite simple – love God and love people. Our desire is to not complicate the call of God for the church. It’s never been about programs or structures, Christianity is about mission. You have been designed by God to be light in the dark places, to live a life that stands out, that when people look at you they see both a love for God and His love shining through your actions towards others.

Here at Kingborough Family Church our desire is to join together and impact the world in which we live with the Love and Power of Jesus.

Our Team

Throughout the Gospels we see Jesus displaying servant leadership. He set out to raise followers who would serve people and work hard at releasing others.

Here at Kingborough Family Church that’s our desire, to lead from the front. Leadership is not a title but a function and we see it as a privilege to serve those God has called us to minister with.

We have a great team but there’s always room for more. If you desire to serve and want to know more about opportunities please speak with Mark or Andrea.

Church History

Our History and Denomination

Kingborough Family Church was started just over 25 years ago beginning in the Kingston Beach Community Hall before moving into our current property in Huntingfield. The Church was originally planted from Hobart Family Church (now known as Velocity Church) under the Acts Global Churches movement.

Acts Global Churches (formerly Apostolic Church Australia) is one of the pentecostal denominations or families of churches which was birthed in Australia in 1930 from ministry that flowed from the Welsh Revival in 1904.

In many ways Acts Global isn’t different from other Christian denominations.  It holds to all the early creeds of historic Christianity and is in perfect harmony with orthodox Christian doctrine.  It is also in agreement with most other Pentecostal Churches.  Like them, we believe worship should be vibrant, and that God’s supernatural power is available for all Christians for daily living.

If you would like more information visit- Acts Global Churches.

Acts Global Churches – What We believe

  • The one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons in unity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • The Divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scripture.
  • The original perfection of creation; the inherent corruptness of humanity through the Fall; the necessity of repentance and regeneration by grace and through faith in Christ alone, and the eternal separation from God of the finally unrepentant.
  • The virgin Birth, sinless life atoning death, triumphant Resurrection, ascension and continuing intercession of our Lord Jesus Christ, His Second Coming, and eternal Kingdom reign.
  • The justification and sanctification of believers through the finished work of Christ, their security as they remain in Him, and their future resurrection in an incorruptible body.
  • The Sacraments of Baptism by immersion, and of the Lord’s Supper.
  • The baptism of the Holy Spirit for believers with supernatural signs, empowering the Church for its mission in the world.
  • The gifts of the Holy Spirit for the building up of the Church and ministry to the world.
  • Christ’s leadership of the Church through the ascension ministries of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, for the unity, maturity and growth of the Church.
  • The privilege and responsibility of wise stewardship of all that God has given, including the practice of tithing to the local church.
  • We believe that the covenant of marriage is the union of a man and a woman who have voluntarily entered into a loving, committed and exclusive relationship for as long as both live.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a service last for ?

Our service starts at 10am and is usually concluded by 11:30am. We have 3-4 worship songs, news and announcements, we join in communion together followed by a message that is relevant to everyday life.
Join us after the service for morning tea and a drink and enjoy a barista made coffee from our coffee card which is operational every second week.

Where do I park?

We have a very big carpark onsite, including some accessible parking spaces closer to the front door.

What should I wear?

We are a pretty casual group of people so wear whatever you feel most comfortable wearing.

You are welcome to sit wherever you like in the auditorium.  There are spaces on the aisles that are suitable for prams and wheelchairs. If you are unsure where would you would like to sit, a member of our welcome team will be happy to assist you.

Will I be asked to give any money?

We collect an offering each week as part of our worship, but we do not expect guests to give in the offering.  No one at KFC is under compulsion to give but we do teach the Biblical principles of giving and generosity.

Children are invited to sit with their adults for the first few songs and then can attend one of our children’s programs for the remainder of the service. We have kids programs running for 3to 7 year olds, and 7 to 12 year olds. You can register your children for our kids programs at The Hub before the service.
